1st Inaugural Service at the newly built DLBC Gbagada HQ

“The Dawn of Greater Glory”

THE NEW DAWN OF GREATER GLORY

HAGGAI 2:6-9

As you look at the prophecies of Haggai, you will find that it contains only two chapters and yet Haggai as the Prophet of God was God’s mouthpiece to declare God’s mind and message along with God’s mercy to God’s people. If you have been studying the Bible, you might find that Haggai is referred to as one of the Minor Prophets, not minor because the message is minor but because he and the other Minor Prophets’ Books are not as long and big like those of Prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel and Ezekiel. But as you come to Haggai in particular, he has a major message with multiple promises from the Almighty God and from the Prince of Peace, great power and with great miracles for people that are misplaced, mistreated, and minimised. His prophecies continue till the Millennial period. Haggai then has a message containing encouragement to Israel and the Church; he has a message with warnings for Israel and the Church; he calls us to righteousness, commitment, work for the Lord, the promised blessing, present blessing and the prophecy of End-time events.

As you look at the message, ‘A New Dawn of Greater Glory’, glory is coming upon your life, family, and what you have never seen before the Lord will do in your life, and you will see, and mighty things will roll upon your life in Jesus Name. Greater Glory is coming upon His Church. It is a new dawn, a new day and a new dispensation. I pray that every one of you without exception will be partaker of this in Jesus Name.

3 points:

POINT 1.  THE PROMISE AT THE NEW DEDICATION

                Haggai 2:4; Haggai 2:5; John 14:16

These promises include;

  1. For I am with you – Haggai 2:5; Matthew 28:18; Haggai 1:13

That is the promise that He has given us, that anywhere you go or turn, when challenges come into your life, and when difficulties confront you, you must remember that the Creator of heaven and earth, the Creator that has all the power in heaven and on earth, and with Whom nothing shall be impossible, says that He is with us. “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:20). He is nearer than your problem, sickness and the powers of your enemies.  There is nothing to fear, He will solve all your problem, and save every souls (Haggai 1:13)

2. My Spirit remaineth with you – Haggai 2:5; John 14:16

The promise is given us that from this day, you will never be alone, nor be an orphan, the Spirit of the living God will abide with you, quicken, energize and empower you every time. Whatever you lack in life, that Comforter comes into your life to abide in you. “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever” (John 14:16).

3. I will fill this house with Glory – Haggai 2:7; Malachi 3:1; 2 Corinthians 3:18

The Lord will fill this house, and as you are the Temple and Habitation of God, He will fill you with His Glory and power, you will not be as you were before in Jesus Name. He is coming to you today as Saviour, Sanctifier and Baptizer with the Holy Ghost, you will be filled with His Glory (Malachi 3:1).

4. The glory of this latter house shall be greater, higher, bigger and more than the glory of the former – Haggai 2:9

Whatever you have got before, miracles you have seen before, joy or happiness you have had before, and provision you have got from the Lord before, a greater glory  is coming in Jesus Name.

5. In this place, there will be peace – Haggai 2:9; Philippians 4:7

There is something waiting for you here as you step in here; all your confusion at crossroads, conflicts in your family will vanish away. He will give you peace that passes all understanding and goes beyond your calculation. The Prince of Peace will reign in your life.

6. From this day will I bless you – Haggai 2:19; Zechariah 8:11-12,23

Blessings will meet you everywhere; wipe those tears away and take the unbelief away. You are blessed. You will know that you are a blessed child of God, and others around you will know too. You will not be a loser, you will be a possessor (Zechariah 8:12).

  1. I will make you as a signet – Haggai 2:23; Daniel 6:17; Esther 8:8

As a servant of God, you will become a Signature; Satan and demons cannot alter that signature, nor change that thing that is coming from you. You are a Signature of God now.  Every negative prophecy, dream, curse, or yoke will be changed in Jesus Name.  You are getting something here this morning; blessings and provision that will never be reversed because of the Signet (Esther 8:8).

POINT 2.  OUR PRAYER IN THE NEW DISPENSATION

                Ephesians 3:2-6; 2 Chronicles 6:19,20,24-33,40-41

We need to understand something about Dispensation. A Dispensation is a period of time.

See some examples of Dispensations in the Bible

  1. The Time of Solomon’s Building of the Temple
  2. The Uncommon ministry of the uncompromising prophets
  3. The Time after the exile
  4. The Building of the post Exilic Temple
  5. The First advent of Christ, where the lepers were cleansed, the dead raised and the sick healed.
  6. The Time of the outpouring of the Holy Ghost at Pentecost
  7. The Calling and Conversion of Paul the Apostle for the salvation of the Gentile world

Now the temple has been built, and He says that His house shall be called a house of prayer. But what kind of prayer? There is the understanding and the covenant of the Lord that His ears will be opened unto your prayers in this place (2 Chronicles 6:20). “Then hear thou from the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers” (2 Chronicles 6:25). There will be forgiveness, mercies and recovery of all blessings that we have lost in this place as we pray.  If there is famine, unemployment and sickness, and as you come to this place they will stop as we pray in Jesus Name. “Then what prayer or what supplication soever shall be made of any man, or of all thy people Israel, when every one shall know his own sore and his own grief, and shall spread forth his hands in this house” (2 Chronicles 6:29). He will give us grace not to backslide, and you will not backslide, you will continue till the very end in Jesus Name (2 Chronicles 6:31).All our invitees, and unbelievers as they come in here to pray in this place, will be blessed with spiritual, physical and all kinds of blessings in Jesus Name (2 Chronicles 6:32). “Now therefore arise, O LORD God, into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness” (2 Chronicles 6:41).You will rejoice today.

POINT 3.  THE POWER OF THE RENEWED DEVOTION

Haggai 2:4; Joshua 14:11

As Haggai calls us to a new dispensation, he reveals the power and possibilities we have in Christ. Having come to this new Temple, Tabernacle and House of God, the Lord wants to begin a new thing with His church, He wants us to have a renewed devotion and dedication as believers as well.

Our renewed devotion entails:

  1. Be strong, the power of the Lord abides in you – Haggai 2:4; Joshua 14:11

“Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the Lord ; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the Lord , and work: for I am with you, saith the Lord of hosts” (Haggai 2:4). The time of weakness, trembling, and that you cannot do this is over in your life. You can do all things through Christ which strengthens you. You’ve come here and you will carry power home, to the field and the workplace. Let the weak say, I am strong. Be strong, you are strong from now on, no weakness in your life anymore; your heart, mind and life is strong.

Language of weakness, fearfulness, cannot, and tiredness, cut it off your mouth. Now I can.  “Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said” (Joshua 14:12). You will face new challenges with new courage and power. There is no mountain that confronts you that you will not be able to conquer. My God is able.

  1. And work – Haggai 2:4; Mark 13:34

He has given us work to do, we are not going to hold back, you have the liberty, you will work for the Lord. “For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch” (Mark 13:34).  There is no redundant member in the house of the Lord, He has given to every man his work, and the power to do and succeed; you will not fail nor falter.

  1. Fear ye not – Haggai 2:5; Isaiah 8:12,18; 35:4-6,8-10; 41:10-15; 54:4,14,17; 43:1-2,18-19

You are now on top of every situation in your life. In the dark, in the day, whatever the enemies say or do, whatever medical reports or x-ray reveal, fear ye not: you are going to overcome everything and the Lord will deliver you from every fear in Jesus Name. Talk, walk, and live confidently when others around you are afraid (Isaiah 8:12,18).  “Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more” (Isaiah 54:4). Whatever comes and happens, the Lord is assuring you that you will not be ashamed.  Fear not!

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:19). The new day has started for you as a Church, forget the past, don’t talk, cry and mourn like in the past; a new day has come for you.

Ponder on this! There will be forgiveness, mercies and recovery of all blessings that we have lost as we pray in this place. Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi.
